Highlights from 2016

Let's start off this year with Valentines Day.  I used handmade flowers, die cut leaves, a heart cut out, & a

stamped image.
Mother's Day...I had to try something different, so I did edge punches on each side of a solid panel, the flowers were from a Stampin-up stamp and punch.

My first Gift Card Holder! This was my twist on one of "MayMay made it" designs. My husband really liked this design!

This is the card I made that started my love affair with dimensional cards.  The tissue box is an actual box sitting on the card, and it holds a tissue that could be pulled out, in an emergency! Ha Ha!

This baby started my love affair with pop-ups! THANK YOU Karen Burniston!  I watched the video on how to do this, and was amazed!  I knew I had to try this! I made several of these this year, each getting better than the first.   With things like banners, made out of shrinky-dinks (spanning the explosion part.)  I think one even had a very simple pop up gift! After that, I watched all of Karen's tutorials I could find on Pop-Ups.  Needless to say, my collection of dies really started to grow! Unfortunately, not all were available, so I had to settle for the ones I could find.   I keep searching.......

Next up was this new thing to try.....folding paper doilies to make shirts.  I stamped the back side of the doily with random patterns so when folded, it had some color on the backside.  I ended up using the waste parer from the stamping to cut out a heart for the bodice.  I learned how to tie the bow on a fork, & even made my own coat hanger...I'll try anything! Seriously!  I love crafting!  As with other cards that followed, they got better.  But I could not feed my brain enough, I had to find more things to learn!

Let's finish off the year with some Christmas cards.
Recognize  the ladybug dies?! I learned a cool thing from Jennifer McGuire....use things in a different way.  So I cut off the legs & antenna, re-positioned the bugs, then drew in the legs & antenna back in. Another fork bow.  They always come out so nice.  Much easier than trying to tie them!

The second card is from a Gina K Design kit.  My first kit, I might add!  The design is all hers, but I learned a lot! I had fun playing around with the kit.

This last one is a gift card holder I came up with for my Grandkids.
The stamps and dies came from a magazine I ordered from Europe. They are cute, but they took FOREVER to arrive!
